Choosing the Right Legal Process Outsourcer
The Legal Process Outsourcing (LPO) market is relatively new and rapidly evolving, with a multitude of providers. Like many markets, it will probably consolidate over time, which means careful buyers will consider which providers are likely to be around for the long haul. This adds to the usual challenges of evaluating a crowded playing field, especially for buyers with relatively little LPO experience, but analyst reports that evaluate the market and buying process can help. One such report is the recently-released “Sourcing Prism” report, Legal Service Outsourcing Edition, published by the ValueNotes Sourcing Practice (”VN”), which has been tracking the LPO market for several years. The report rates 41 LPOs and helps buyers understand key selection criteria. Integreon is pleased to be highly rated across all key criteria, ranking as 1 of just 3 “Pacesetters” identified. This post summarizes the Sourcing Prism; readers who would like a complimentary copy can register for it here

It’s the data stupid!
It was a US President who first said ‘it’s the economy stupid’ when asked what the top topic from a long list of issues would be most important to voters. If you substitute the role of a voter with that of a user, then the answer to the same question – what is most important to them – might well be, ‘it’s the data stupid!’ Yet bizarrely data is the one topic that we still have the least clarity about, particularly with respect to what and how we will be dealing with it in the more complex environments beyond IT applications and structured databases. We have clarity, or at least emerging clarity, about the issues of computational power, networking connectivity, and even integration, by the cloud, internet and web respectively, but exactly what do we have on data? Lots of promises around how semantics will change the game, and as part of this there is no doubt that semantic events are getting more interesting in establishing how to manage data created for, and consumed by, human eyeballs, not applications and computers. But is this enough to address the changes we are experiencing around the explosion in use of the web, and the road into ‘everything and everyone connected in the cloud’ based on everything as a ‘service’

Outsourcing Companies Sell Subsidiaries in a Bid to Specialize Rather than Diversify
A number of outsourcing companies have sold or are now selling their subsidiaries after less than stellar performance these past few months. In what had been previously hailed as the need for diversity in outsourcing offerings, some companies are now realizing that they may have bitten off more than they can chew. The most recent company to announce the sale of a subsidiary is Michigan-based company TechTeam Global (NASDAQ:TEAM), who announced the sale of TechTeam Government Solutions last week. The company announced on the 4th of June that they are selling TechTeam Government Solutions for $59 million in cash to construction and engineering firm, Jacobs Engineering Group (NYSE:JEC), in a move that was greeted with surprise by the market. According to Morgan Joseph & Co analyst Richard Paget , the deal was not the kind of needle mover that people expected from the company
